Step 1 β POLICY.bin / SHARED_HEAD.bin Download Fails
These files are hosted on GitHub servers. If the download fails or is very slow, GitHub may be temporarily overloaded. Wait 5β10 minutes and try again β this usually resolves itself.
π‘ If waiting doesn't help, try connecting to a VPN and re-injecting. This often fixes issues caused by ISP throttling or regional server problems. You can also try closing and reopening RiftLoader to restart the download.
Step 2 β "Fetching Latest Bot Configuration" Error
This error usually means your ISP or network is blocking the connection to Rift's servers. The most reliable fix is to connect via a VPN and try again.
Free options that work for this:
π‘ Connect to a different region than your own and retry the injection.
Step 3 β Disable IPv6 & Enable SSL/TLS (Rare Fix)
In rare cases, IPv6 or outdated TLS settings can cause download failures. To address this:
Disable IPv6:
Open Network Connections, right-click your active network adapter, and select Properties
Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
Enable SSL/TLS:
Press Win + R, type inetcpl.cpl, and press Enter
Go to the Advanced tab and scroll to the bottom
Make sure Use SSL 3.0 and all TLS versions (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3) are checked
π‘ This is a rare fix, but it has resolved the issue for some users where nothing else worked. Restart your PC after making these changes.
Step 4 β Run authfix.bat
If none of the above steps help, download and run the authfix.bat script as Administrator. It resets network settings, flushes DNS, and fixes common connection issues automatically.
π‘ Right-click authfix.bat and select "Run as administrator" β it will not work correctly without elevated permissions.
